How much CBD should I take?

CBD Has Many Health Benefits

You’ve probably heard about the health benefits of CBD but how much should you take?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of over 60 active compounds in the cannabis plant. These active compounds, known as cannabinoids, affect your body in many different ways.

CBD isn’t psychoactive — meaning it won’t get you “high.” Instead, research suggests that it may help:

  • Reduce anxiety and depression
  • Improve sleep
  • Reduce seizures in people with epilepsy
  • Reduce pain and inflammation
  • Improve skin conditions
  • Ease arthritic symptoms

Whatever you are trying to treat, taking the right CBD dose is crucial as you may not feel the desired effect otherwise.

What the Research says about CBD

CBD has been widely researched over the last few years.

Studies have shown that there is no universal dosage of CBD that everyone should take. Different people (and different animals!) respond to different dosages of CBD. Most people use between 20mg-1500mg per day.

As the hemp and cannabis industries grow, there is a lot more exciting research being undertaken.

Finding out how much you should take

How much CBD you should take depends on certain factors including:

  • Your body weight
  • The condition you are trying to treat

You should start with the smallest dose possible. For most people this is 20mg a day. Using our Wight CBD 5%, this is 8 drops per day.

You should continue on this dose for as long as you feel it is treating your symptoms. If you feel that you need a stronger dose, you should gradually increase this by 5mg per day. It is best to keep track of this over a period of 3-4 weeks to work out what the optimum dose is for you.
